An Arizona native with a long history of local and statewide leadership, Flagstaff Mayor Becky Daggett was elected Vice Mayor in 2020 and Mayor in 2022. She is a decisive problem-solver skilled at building consensus who believes that real change requires contrasting perspectives at the table.

Mayor Daggett was appointed to the Arizona Arts Commission, serves on the Arizona Citizens for the Arts board, completed the Just City Mayoral Fellowship at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and is a Flinn-Brown Fellow through the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership. She holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University.

Some Activities & Accomplishments

Here are a few of the Mayor’s activities and accomplishments since taking office in 2022.

  • Mayoral Fellowship through the Mayors’ Institute for Community Design & the Just Cities Lab in the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
  • New Mayors Program at Harvard University. Sponsored by Harvard, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
  • Successfully lobbied at the state and federal level for funding for flood mitigation, housing, and infrastructure needs.
